IMT~watercolor

"storm rolling"
ATC~watercolor and watercolor pencil

Another ATC for you...I actually started another watercolor on a larger piece of paper that I just haven't finished. If I finish it today I'll add it to this post. I have a big pile of watercolors in tubes that I collected from taking that class w/ my dad. (See previous post) As well as I inherited all of his. I rarely use them. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's got something to do w/ that previous post. Anyway, it was fun to do....watercolors intrinsically make you fast and free and able to carve out life w/ abandon. At least for me. If I try to control the watercolor, it only controls me, and nothing good happens in either direction. I still love these little ATC's....they break through barriers for me. It's okay to just be "done".

Miriam, I love this! It's such an emotional little piece! I would never have guessed that it's so small - it looks to me like a much larger painting.

I agree with Cheryl this looks like a big painting...WOW...I can feel the powerful force of that storm...IT IS WONDERFUL...You ought to think about getting back into the watercolors you are terrific at it!!!!

I have to 2nd Pattie and Cheryl!
Also...I'm seeing this transfered to ceramic tile, as a mosiac piece, installed in a bathroom...as an entire wall above the soaking tub! You'd walk into the room and couldn't help but say WOW!

Okay..I'm with the tohers...this is really amazing for such a small size. It's wonderful anyway, but I'm completely impressed. Beautiful!

You guys are really nice! I'll have to try something similar on a large scale just for you!

The colors pack a powerful punch, and you can almost hear the wind and thunder while looking at this painting! I also love the peek of sun in the upper right hand corner.

This is a great ATC. I love how you've taken advantage of the messiness inherent in watercolours.

Really love the way your colors flow and blend. And the lines up at the very top...

I don't know why... but when I saw this painting my initial reaction was "Oh! Ireland! When a storm whips us and throws the light around!"

it is mysterious and lovely and dreamy...

Excellent Miriam--the scale, the way the colors bleed into eachother, the tone.
